Whitby Beach
Experience Whitby Beach: historic abbey views, sandy stretches, and Gothic charm, ideal for family fun and cultural discovery in a picturesque setting.
Sandsend is a small village at the northern end of the long beach that runs from Whitby's West Cliff. It is quieter than Whitby, with becks running onto the sand and rocks and scars at the far end. Collectors and jewellery makers name the stretch towards Sandsend as a regular source of glass.
Pale green and white are prominent, with greens, browns and the occasional blue; lilac pieces are also mentioned. Pebbly sections hold more than the sand, and autumn and winter storms bring the most in.
