Moelfre Beach
Small rocky harbour beach in the lifeboat village of Moelfre on Anglesey's east coast, with sea glass among the rocks.
Traeth Bach is the smaller of Cemaes's two beaches, on the western side of the harbour across the Afon Wygyr from Traeth Mawr. It is sandy with a shingle top and rocks at each end. The village was a working port that shipped china clay, bricks and ochre and had a shipyard, and collectors describe the beach as one of the best for glass on Anglesey.
Collectors report white, green and amber as standard, with soft blue, aqua, dark olive, cobalt, turquoise and black turning up, plus sea pottery. Work the shingle line and harbour-wall shingle as the tide drops, then the rock pools at either end; the strandline is freshest after westerly or winter storms.
