North East Seaham Beach
Experience Seaham Beach: rugged coastline, sea glass treasures, and heritage sites, ideal for unique discoveries and serene coastal walks.
Ryhope beach sits below limestone cliffs, stacks and arches on the southern edge of Sunderland, a short walk north of Seaham. It is small and quiet, with sandy patches exposed at low tide. Locals point to it as one of the good alternatives to the busier Seaham beaches.
Small fragments of sea glass, especially after rough seas. Go at low tide and take care on slippery seaweed; you can also walk on towards Seaham Hall beach.

Sunderland's twin seafront beaches by the Wear mouth, with the odd frosted piece of sea glass around Roker Pier and the Cat and Dog Steps.
Seaham's quieter, wilder neighbour south of the harbour, sharing the same Victorian bottleworks glass with far fewer hunters.
A quiet rocky beach below the old Easington pit, with thick, well-tumbled sea glass and striped slag glass nearby at Shippersea Bay.
