About Sheringham Beach

Sheringham Beach is a charming pebble beach at high tide, which reveals lovely stretches of sand as the water recedes. It's nestled within a traditional seaside town that boasts a rich fishing heritage. The beach is renowned for its scenic beauty, encompassing rugged cliffs and clear waters, making it a favorite spot for swimmers, sunbathers, and fossil hunters. Sheringham's high street, just a short walk from the beach, offers a variety of shops, cafes, and amenities, adding to the day-out experience. The town is also home to the North Norfolk Railway, offering steam train rides that provide a nostalgic trip through the beautiful countryside.

Visiting Sheringham Beach

Getting there
From Norwich, take the A140 towards Cromer, then the A148, and follow the signs to Sheringham. Once in Sheringham, follow signs to the seafront where parking options are available. The town is compact, so most amenities and the beach are within easy walking distance from car parks.
Parking
There are several car parks in Sheringham, including ones close to the beach and the town center. During peak season or on sunny weekends, it's wise to arrive early as parking spaces can fill up quickly.
Toilets
Public toilets are available at several locations close to the beach and along the promenade.
Safety
Check the tide times before you go and head out on a falling tide, so you're never cut off. Keep away from the bottom of cliffs, wear sturdy shoes on rocks, and only take sea glass and other man-made rubbish: pebbles, sand and shells should stay on the beach.
